So Collin and Zack sorta convinced me to get a blog. Plus I think that I'll run more/better/longer if I have to write about it #newyearsresolutions Anyway, I ran just over 3 miles. It was pretty hard considering I haven't ran in forever. And my splits were like 10 min. But I did 5 min of abs afterwards so go me. To be honest, I'm just glad I actually braced the cold instead of chickening out and hitting the treadmill. Happy New Year!

Actually got on running clothes and walked upstairs almost out the door when my mom and I got into a big dicussion on the gospel which was way good but then I was late to work and didn't run so that's lame. I did go to Hot Pilates though and guys if your hamstring is ever way tight this is the way to fix that lemme tell ya.

P.S. Hot Pilates is pretty much like normal Pilates in Hawaii. I was barely fazed by the heat lol.

Guys. I'm officially in love with hot pilates. My hamstrings love my after hot pilates. My abs hate me after hot pilates but they'll get over it.

TRX my friends. It's my new fav hobby. My abs are coming along nicely. Also apparently I have really good strong shoulders but sucky core strength. And bad glutes. Which makes me a bad runner. According to very fit and fast teacher. You learn something new every day. But. My butt hurts so freaking bad. I'm really trying to stregthen other aspects of my body as a take a bit of a time out from running. I'll resume once I get to China and train for the marathon but right now my body needs some balance and some cross training and some strength training. It's seriously been so good for me. Emotionally too. I was starting to hate running until I took a break and now I miss it so much which is really what I needed.

Here's the thing. I promise I run. I promise I exercise. Honestly, if this wasn't fast running blog and was instead called all the yoga and cross training blog I would literally be killing it. But it's cold outside and I'm alone so I run less these days and always forget to write about it. So if anyone wants to be my running buddy hmu.

So I ran 3 miles. Go me. And I think the air quality is just really bad because that was like the longest three miles of my life. Ahaha. Remember that one time I drove to Colorado and didn't run for a week because the ice was 4 years deep on the road. And so many stray dogs. So then remember when I got home and ran this morning and almost died and almost lost my dog? Good times. Running has never been such a struggle before in my whole life. What's that about? But I got the Clifton's and I love them, so that was a fun new motivator. But seriously. Rip me and my physical well being.

Ran a mile on the Legacy Center track with Caela. Actually felt really good. I think the air outside is what's killing me because that mile was the best mile of my life lemme tell ya. But it was in my Pegs which are like hecka old and have so many miles and now my achilles .2 hurts. But it's fine. Then did the hot pilates which rules. Starting to feel kind of sick.

Pretty good swim workout today. But I started doing breaststrock and my calf like freaked out. But I had to finish the set ya know bc winners never quit and quitters never win and Caela was gonna judge me so I did and now I can't walk on my calf without pain. Rip me. Who knew I'd get hurt swimming hecka slow. Feels like I strained something but hopefully it's fine. Also hung out with Bill at the BYU today so that was a real party. She's the best.

Ran two miles in the good ol Bandits. And I think the indoor track at the Legacy Center is gonna have to be a regular thing because every time I run there it feels so great. Ran a nice warm up mile with Caela and then did 8 200s. Short workout but I'm getting back in ya know. Kept the 200s all under 50 sec which old me would have been upset about but now me is proud of. Then I lifted a little. Played some good ol basketball for a while and then as Caela and I were walking out and the pool was closed so we spontaneously decided to jump in. The whole time I'm doing all other sorts of exercise I feel great no problems. And then as soon as I get in the pool my calf hurts like crazy. So that's a problem. But it was so refreshing I can't even tell ya, it felt great. So we swam around for a bit and then I rolled in some snow all wet as a dare and then Caela rolled out my calf. It was pretty much a 10/10 night.

Lol @ me. I've slacked off so hard this week. I ate bad (curse those conversation hearts) and didn't run. Today I did the TRX and saw Matt Jones and he was like "do you still run?" and I really wanted to honestly say yes. Which means I should get serious about running the Great Wall Marathon. Which means I should probably train for it. Wish me luck.

2.15 miles on the Utahrun treamill. S/o to that treamill for being there for me when it's hecka cold outside. Even though its way too complicated to figure out the technology on that thing. Did 10 min of abs which was fun and I may go to yoga tonight I'm not quite sure.

It was the most beautiful day outside. Like ever. Such a blessing for reals. So I made my baby sister Elle run with my and she is such a treat. We talked while we ran/walked/hiked/skipped and it was the happiest thing. I really needed this one for my soul.

So I moved to China. And it's the most amazing place. I love it so much. And today was the first day that I was allowed to go outside and run and it was in the city and really scary but exciting and I felt so good! But I only went 2 miles. Because I have to have someone with all the time. And no one else wanted to go further. What a blessing. But really my legs felt so good!

China is seriously still the coolest! I love the kids that we get to help! Today I ran 3 miles total all in our appartment complex. Super boring but you do what you can do with what you got ya know? So I did a 200, 400, 800, 400, 200 at 10k pace and then just a warm up mile and a cool down. Pretty easy workout. Still adjusting to the time zone and humidity. But it was so fun and felt great even though it was just circles around my building! Also few baby hills in there didn't hurt anyone(;

Nice lil 3 mile run with the ol Bri through the beautiful streets of China to the school and back. This funny Asian guy was joking and tried to run with us but lol @ him bc we were in it to win it so we blew right past him. Also my left achilles started burning in a way it never has before but winners never quit amiright? So I pushed through and it's feelin alright now. What a blessing.

Short run home from the school with Bri. Funny story. My roommate was like,"Kin. Why are you changing from running shoes into different running shoes??" (Kineta Relay into the Kinvara) #distancerunnerprobs It was a good run though. And we got to go to the top of the building in our complex and out onto the roof and we could see the whole city. It was incredible. I love China. And you could never get bored running in this city. So many things to see and places to go. Miss my mountains though.

Sick run with Madi and Bri up and around the city. Running helps you to really get to know a place better and I appreciate that. China is hecka gorgeous and I fall in love with it more and more every day. My legs feel so great here and my lungs even better. Shout out to being at sea level. I feel like I could run forever. Unfortunately Madi and Bri aren't about that. They are troopers for even coming the three miles with me. I gotta figure something else out cuz I'm going stir crazy up in here. All in all a good run and a good day.

You guys. After like 3 hours of walking around China and trying to talk to people who had no idea what I was saying cuz @chinese, I finally found the city track. And it's so close to my house. It was a beautiful moment. But I walked like 2 miles trying to find it and then I ran 3 more on that gorgeous track doing some fartleks. And then some guy walked up to me and in broken English was like "You are very beautiful. Umm...You...attract me?" Yeah. That was a huge heck nah from me. Anyway. Shoutout to my friends for sitting on a bench by the track so I could run bc we aren't allowed to go anywhere alone. What a blessing.

My calves and achilles hurt so so bad. But I ran 3 miles total. 3 800s at 7:30 pace. Felt pretty good and was really fun. I could probably step it up a bit now that I've been running more. I love China. And running here is the bomb.

Hiked a butt ton on vacation last week. Literally like 13 miles a day up sketchy mountains. Then got super sick this week. I hope I didn't get the chicken pox from my kids or some freaky Chinese disease. Hopefully I'll feel good enough to run tomorrow.

Today was a blessing because I ran my good 3 miles. Still sick. But I did a mile and a half of tempo and it felt really good but it was really hard and I was only gonna do a mile but Caela said to do a mile and a half and that was a smart move. So shout out to Caela. Also she rocks for coming to the track every day and sitting there while I run. She da best. Then got a good talk to the good ol David Bowers and he helped me figure out what I'm doing with my running life. Solid guy. But walked around the track a million more times during that convo. Good day. #blessed Also Kens is mad that I didn't mention that she comes to the track too sometimes while I run so shout out to her too.

OH MY GOODNESS. It is so hot here. Wow. I've been trying to focus more on speed and strength. I did 400, 300, 200, 100 x3 and then just some mileage. Gotta remember to run backwards on the track more so I don't hurt myself cuz it's the only place I can run. What a good day though! Lol all the asians stared at me when I was in just a sports bra so apparently that's pretty scandalous in China. Also cute lil baby asians said hi to me and it made my heart melt.

Was going to do just a couple mile repeats and then I couldn't breathe. Like for reals. So that was stressful. Did one mile at tempo pace and then an 800 and 2 400s. Still turned out to be a really good workout and did some awesome stretching also my cool down felt great and was to some Jon Bellion so that's always a good time. Then walked an extra mile and a half home in the cliftons but I never add that to the shoes bc it's not running so it won't wear it down the same I guess.

Just did a mile of fartleks and some slow mileage. I have an infection in my lungs which annswers the why so much coughing. Shoutout to humidity I guess. Still good to get my legs moving on the track. Also shoutout to Collin for helping my sister get spikes.

Haha so Zack & Col & Joe told me I gotta get back on here since I took a break from blogging (not running) in China. Ran 7 up around tibble today with Sophie. SOOOO BEAUTIFUL and felt pretty great except for my lungs are still adjusting. GUYS. THE MOUNTAINS ARE INCREDIBLE. Last mile I kinda tripped and rolled my ankle so that hurt pretty bad. No fun. But overall it was incredible. I missed the Utah. Also s/o to Zack because he's the coolest and he let my sister use his sleeping bag when we went camping the other day and because he leaves on his mission pretty soon!!
